Missed you

There's a lot packed in to this.  On the surface level, this is a very sweet and uplifting scene, but there are a lot of other nice elements at play.  The presence of darkness behind her head and the predominance of light on the side of this mysterious character adds to the uplifting feel, or the chasing away of a darker emotion.  Particularly, the white outline that covers both character's hands and faintly trails towards the rest of her head helps accentuate this, and also hints at a uniting/reuniting theme.  Focusing on the closed eye gives the scene a roguish and playful appearance, yet focusing on the opened eye gives an element of longing and relief.  This element is also tied together with the text in the background, which has a very journalistic feel to it; further, the light and shadows give the illusion of bent pages as in a book.  Holistically, the colors blend together into a rustic gold, which has a reflective/welcoming feel to it, while the individual colors of yellow transitioning to parts of red give strong elements of friendship, as well as a slightly, perhaps hopeful, romantic element to the overall mood.  This is also supported by the presence of the oddly familiar scarf, which hadn't appeared on this particular character in the past, but a certain lion.  (It could also be that you really like drawing this one particular style of scarf, but I like the symbolism a bit too much to chalk it up to that.  :3)  As I said, there's a lot packed in to this one picture, but again that's very true to life.  One moment can carry a plethora of emotions, baggage, and hope on its wings, and this captures that sensation remarkably.    Whatever this represents for you, I hope it’s found in your life, only instead of being limited to a still image it may instead extend into a full-length feature.
