Now you see why I practiced the skulls
Light chases out the dark
but-
what did your subconscious think first? Is he coming for you or leaving you...?
hmmmm the mysteries of yourself...
I got tired of drawing the lovey stuff. So here have a demon.
Hmm... I see the rose as innocence or purity; perhaps as a dream. The term "rose-tinted glass" comes to mind, and the warmth of colors opposite the demon could portray the romanticized or idealized dream resting just out of reach of the demon who seeks to snatch it away into the abyss where he is struggling to avoid being banished away to. But from this point, there are two options: is the demon an adversary seeking to thwart one's greatest dream, or is the demon the self, and by fighting out of the abyss of struggle and the coldness of work and growth and maturity one's jadedness taints the rosy dream, and the reality of life erodes away this once-rosy warmth first held in youth's innocence?
Sorry for the long post, but I really liked this picture and the invitation to interpret it, so I had to give this one a good long look (I do love art that lets you think). Very beautifully done!
